Revealing a violet-red color in the glass, the 2014 Cabernet Franc possesses some visual depth that makes one excited to dive right in. On first taste, the classic flavor of Pyrazines or bell pepper is prominent, however quickly dissipates into wonderful notes of dried oregano and sour cherry mid-palate leading into a long, silky finish showing off delightful red plum. A much fuller-bodied version than the 2013, the balance between tannin and fruit is a perfect harmony also containing some floral notes of cayenne-spiced chocolate and a hint of elderflower. Really a beautiful wine to let sit in the glass and enjoy both the aromatic quality as well as the taste. Could even be enhanced by a quick decant. A perfect match for a stinky Camembert or simply some Black Lentils or Pinto Beans. Any wild game like Quail, Rabbit or Pheasant would be a lovely companion as well. Best from 2020-2030. Varietal Composition: 100% Cabernet Franc.

Our 2014 Cabernet Franc was awarded a Silver Medal at the 2020 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, which is the largest competition of American wines. Wine Enthusiast gave this wine a score of 87.
